Driving the Transition to Sustainable Cooling in Indonesia’s Building Sector

On 24 September, HEAT GmbH, in collaboration with the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), hosted a capacity-building event on “Opportunities and Challenges in Energy Efficiency and the Transition to Natural Refrigerants” under the IKI Asian Low Carbon Building Transition Project (ALCBT).

HEAT Contributes to UNEP Cooling Guide Launched at Bonn Climate Conference

HEAT GmbH has substantially contributed to a new publication by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) Cool Coalition that provides countries with guidance on integrating sustainable cooling into their national climate commitments.

The “Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) Cooling Guide: Guidance for integrating the cooling sector into NDCs,” was launched at the Bonn Climate Conference in June 2025.

ALCBT Launches Building Emission Assessment Tool “BEAT”

The Asia Low Carbon Buildings Transition (ALCBT) Project, together with the Global Cement and Concrete Association (GCCA), launched the Building Emission Assessment Tool (BEAT), a web-based platform developed to quantify and reduce embodied and operational carbon emissions throughout a building’s life cycle. Developed by HEAT as an ALCBT consortium partner, BEAT brings sophisticated Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) methodologies to rapidly urbanising countries.

On Sunday, 18 May 2025, our “HEAT & Family” team lined up for the Königstein Charity Run for the third year in a row. Colleagues and family members tackled the 5 km course together, circling Königstein Castle twice and passing our headquarters, the “Schweizerhaus”, while conquering the Taunus region’s trademark steep climbs.

Dietram Oppelt, Managing Director of HEAT GmbH, has been elected as Chair of the Technology Executive Committee (TEC) during its Advisory Board Meeting in Copenhagen this April. HEAT GmbH is actively participating in the 29th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP29), held in Baku, Azerbaijan, from November 11 to 22, 2024. The conference focuses on critical issues such as setting new climate finance targets, operationalizing the Loss and Damage Fund, and enhancing Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) to limit global warming to 1.5°C.
