For our office in Königstein im Taunus, close to Frankfurt, we are currently looking for a Junior-or Senior-Expert in climate protection with a focus on emissions models and mitigation scenarios.
You already have experience in the field of climate protection on topics such as climate policy, NDCs, national mitigation strategies, sectoral emissions models or life cycle assessment (LCA)? Are you committed to climate protection and enjoy working with different actors at national and international level?
Then you might be just the person we are looking for!
Your tasks could be:
- Support in the development and implementation of Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) and long-term strategies (LTS) for countries.
- Participation in sectoral mitigation strategies, particularly in the areas of transport, heating, cooling and buildings.
- Application and further development of mitigation modelling using own models and established models such as Times, use of AI applications.
- Implementation of measurement, reporting and verification (MRV) processes.
- Carrying out Life Cycle Assessments (LCA) to evaluate the environmental impact of projects.
- Work with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders, including government agencies, non-governmental organisations and private sector organisations, to develop and implement climate change mitigation and adaptation strategies.
- Support (junior) or lead (senior) and implement projects for our national and international clients.
- Activities in project acquisition and development with a focus on EU and international projects.
Your qualifications – expertise in more than one topic is an advantage:
- University degree in STEM, climate science, environmental technology, engineering or a related discipline.
- In-depth knowledge of IPCC Tier 2 /3 and AI applications.
- Experience with MRV processes and LCA.
- Experience with data modelling and analysis.
- Experience in project acquisition and development.

- Willingness to travel within and outside Germany
- Excellent written and oral communication skills

You can expect:
- An insight into the diverse consulting activities in the field of climate protection and international cooperation.
- Supporting projects to promote natural refrigerants and energy efficiency.
- Working with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders, including government agencies, non-governmental organisations and private sector organisations, to develop and implement climate change mitigation and adaptation strategies.
- Analysing technology trends, mechanisms and instruments in international climate policy.
- Supporting with project communication (social media, websites), the organisation and implementation of workshops.
- Contributing to project development and acquisition.
Your qualifications:
- You are completing your Master’s degree in STEM, sustainability or a related field and still have at least two semesters to complete.
- You have a good understanding of technical topics related to green technologies, energy efficiency, or thermodynamics
- You have a passion for sustainability, international cooperation and a deep understanding of the global climate crisis
- You have very good written and verbal communication skills and experience with social media and websites
- You are confident in using Word, Excel and PPT
- You are business fluent in German and English; another foreign language (especially Spanish or French) is an advantage
- If you have experience in processing, analysing and interpreting complex data sets with appropriate programs, this is an advantage.
