🌍 Meet HEAT at COP29 in Baku! 🌍
HEAT GmbH is actively participating in the 29th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP29), held in Baku, Azerbaijan, from November 11 to 22, 2024. The conference focuses on critical issues such as setting new climate finance targets, operationalizing the Loss and Damage Fund, and enhancing Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) to limit global warming to 1.5°C.
Representing the implementing office team of the National Designated Entity (NDE) Germany, our colleagues Dietram Oppelt and Bianca Kohler are on-site, supporting the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action and engaging in strategic dialogues.
We are proud that our Managing Director Dietram Oppelt serves as the Chair of the Technology Executive Committee (TEC) at COP29. The TEC is instrumental in identifying policies that accelerate the development and transfer of low-emission and climate-resilient technologies.
Ahead of COP29, HEAT contributed to a preparatory study commissioned by the European Parliament, which informs EU and international climate negotiations.
