Irene Papst is dedicated to developing mitigation strategies based on robust research and advanced emissions scenarios and modelling, with a focus on the heating, cooling and building sectors. A specialist in Measurement, Reporting and Verification (MRV), her efforts have significantly advanced developing countries' Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs), steering them towards sustainable and climate-resilient practices. She leads HEAT's Business Area Climate Action and is our policy focal point for the Montreal Protocol.
Her academic achievements include an MSc in Environmental Governance from the University of Freiburg, Germany, and an MSc in Applied Geosciences from the University of Leoben, Austria.
