From local climate action to international cooperation: Before joining HEAT in March 2024, Bianca helped communities in Germany with developing their climate action plans and identifying climate-friendly energy solutions on a local level.
At HEAT, she supports the NDE Germany (National Designated Entity), which is the national focal point for climate technologies under the UNFCCC Technology Mechanism. The work comprises participation in the international climate negotiations on technology development and transfer, reporting back to the Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Action, which commissioned the NDE, as well as the coordination of the EU expert group on technology. Besides that, Bianca supports several climate related projects in developing countries, including the technical assistance for a SF6 phase out strategy in Kenya. In addition to a B.A. in Development Economics, Bianca Kohler holds a M.Sc. in Environmental Economics.
