What we expect in terms of general work attitude and skills

Advisor in Climate Finance

You are experienced in providing support to acquire climate finance? You already have some experience with climate policy, NDC implementation, or sectoral expertise? Are you interested in and committed to climate protection and international cooperation? Then you might be just the person we are looking for!

These tasks await you:

  • Conduct research and analysis on carbon finance mechanisms, including carbon offsetting, emissions trading, and other innovative financing approaches. Provide recommendations and guidance on the financial aspects of carbon reduction projects.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, and private sector organizations, to develop and implement financing strategies for climate mitigation and adaptation
  • Advice countries in implementing Nationally Determined Countributions
  • Implementation of trainings for the use of the developed applications
  • Project conception and acquisition

Your qualifications – expertise in more than one topic is an advantage:

  • A degree in the STEM field or comparable knowledge acquired by other means
  • Knowledge of carbon finance mechanisms, including carbon markets, offsetting, and emissions trading. Experience in financial modelling and analysis related to carbon reduction projects.
  • Specific knowledge on Green Climate Fund, Global Environmental Fund, multilateral Development Banks or other donor facilities is an advantage

Advisor for climate policy, focus on data processing

You are up-to-date with the possibilities of data analysis and visualisation? You are data-driven and like to use projections effectively to inform policy makers? You already have some experience with climate policy? Are you interested in and committed to climate protection and international cooperation? Then you might be just the person we are looking for!

These tasks await you:

  • Utilize Power BI and data modelling techniques to analyze and visualize complex environmental data related to carbon emissions, building performance, and energy efficiency. Create interactive dashboards and reports to communicate findings effectively.
  • Development of user-friendly tools for reporting on mitigation projects under the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change and project-based monitoring
  • Design sectoral roadmaps for mitigation and/or adaptation including status -quo analysis, recommendations and monitoring provisions
  • Advice countries in implementing NDCs on the basis of identified alternatives
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, and private sector organizations, to develop and implement climate mitigation and adaptation strategies.
  • Development of sectoral greenhouse gas inventories, especially for emissions from buildings and transport.
  • Development and refinement of projection models and their application to new sectors.
  • Implementation of trainings for the use of the developed applications
  • Project conception and acquisition

Your qualifications – expertise in more than one topic is an advantage:

  • A degree in the STEM field or comparable knowledge acquired by other means
  • Strong command of Power BI and data modelling techniques to analyze and visualize complex environmental data. Experience in creating interactive dashboards and reports.
  • Experience with applying or developing machine learning tools including artificial intelligence and neural networks, prompt engineering for the assessment of data
  • Experience in the field of climate science or policy. Experience in the consulting industry, scientific institutions, think tanks and other civil society actors is an advantage;

Advisor (m/f/d) for climate policy and life cycle assessment

You are experienced in life cycle management, preferably in the context of CO2 footprint calculation of products? You already have some experience with climate policy, NDC implementation, climate finance or sectoral expertise preferably in the buildings sector? Are you interested in and committed to climate protection and international cooperation? Then you might be just the person we are looking for!

These tasks await you:

  • Conduct comprehensive life cycle assessments (LCAs) of buildings, focusing on embodied carbon emissions. Apply your expertise in LCAs to evaluate the environmental impacts of construction materials, technologies, and design choices.
  • Develop innovative strategies to reduce embodied carbon in building projects.
  • Advice countries in implementing NDCs on the basis of identified alternatives

  • Proficiency in digital tools and software used for LCA, financial modeling, data analysis, and project management. Familiarity with software such as SimaPro, eToolLCD, OpenLCA, and carbon accounting platforms is advantageous.
  • Experience in the field of climate science or policy. Experience in the consulting industry, scientific institutions, think tanks and other civil society actors is an advantage;
  • Command of Power BI and data modelling techniques to analyze and visualize complex environmental data and experience in creating interactive dashboards and reports is an advantage.

Interns in IT, Communication, or Climate Technology Consulting

If you are an enrolled student and looking for an interesting place to spend your required internship at, we're looking forward to your application for a 6-month internship.

Requirements for all internships are:

  • You have started or recently completed higher education or FH degree program in a field relevant to your internship
  • Secure handling of the MS Office package
  • Independent, flexible and reliable way of working

Technology-focus internship

  • Supporting the development and implementation of technical studies, market or demand analyses,
  • Conducting of data collections, creation of inventories, calculation of greenhouse gas emissions

Requirements:

  • Basic knowledge of thermodynamics, refrigeration technologies or energy efficiency
  • Advanced knowledge in MS Excel, Access and database management (SQL)
  • Interested in interntional cooperation and climate policy
  • Fluent in English and German, Spanish or French are an asset

Communication-focus internship

  • Writing and editing of texts and presentations
  • Editing of company and project websites including social media
  • Supporting project acquisition

Requirements:

  • Quick grasp of technical topics
  • Interest in international cooperation and climate change policy
  • fluent German and English in spoken and written, ideally fluent Spanish or French

Internship with IT focus:

  • Support for in-house IT processes and processes;
  • Installation of hardware and software
  • Optimization of Microsoft SharePoint, teams and other programs for internal use

Requirements

  • Extended Excel, Access, and Database Knowledge (SQL)
  • Knowledge of MS Office365, especially MS Sharepoint and MS Teams
  • Experience as network administrator
  • Knowledge in powershell / scripting desirable
